Anna is only 9 years old in 1999 when a class of graduating students inexplicably disappears without a trace. Anna, who is sister to one of the missing students is so traumatised by the incident that she becomes plagued by horrific visions.
Fast forward to 2020 and Anna is living peacefully with her family when the nightmares return. So when one survivor from 1999 mysteriously dies, Anna is determined to find out what happened to both her sister and the class, only to discover a dark and unsettling truth that involves her in ways she could never have imagined.
Directed by Søren Balle, the cast of Equinox is led by Danica Curcic as adult Astrid, alongside Lars Brygmann (Dicte) and Hanne Hedelund (Borgen) as her parents, with Viola Martinsen (Splitting Up Together) as young Astrid aged nine.
Creator of the original podcast, Tea Lindeburg, said: “We feel so lucky to have this talented team of actors. It’s exciting to see this story, which has been with me for so long, coming to life in such a beautiful way.”
Equinox is currently in production and is set to launch on Netflix worldwide, but a premiere date has yet to be announced.
