Filming Begins On Börkur Sigþórsson Debut Feature

Börkur Sigþórsson (Trapped) has begun filming in and around Reykjavik for his debut feature, Mules, produced by Agnes Johansen and Baltasar Kormákur.

In Mules, a corporate lawyer who has been embezzling his clients enlists the help of his ex-con brother to fix his financial situation by smuggling cocaine into Iceland. But when the drug mule gets sick upon her arrival and is unable to pass the drugs, the brothers are faced with the dilemma of how to salvage the deal.

Gisli Örn Garðarsson (Prisoners) and Baltasar Breki Samper (Trapped) star as the brothers, while the drug mule is played by Anna Próchniak (The Innocents), and Marjana Jankovic (Norskov) features as a police officer.

Börkur Sigþórsson is also confirmed to direct four episodes of Trapped season two, starring Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, which begins filming this autumn.
