NRK comedy Norsemen (Vikingane), which was simultaneously filmed in both Norwegian and English, has been picked up as a Netflix original for its second season, and a third is in development.
Norsemen, created by Jonas Torgersen and Jon Iver Helgaker, is a cross between Monty Python and Game Of Thrones set in the year 790, where the Vikings of Norheim have a hectic schedule of pillaging, plundering, enslavement and violence.
Jon Iver Helgaker told Dagbladet: “Netflix has bought the series so it’s now a Netflix Original… Now, there are potentially 150 million viewers who can watch the series.”
“We are now sitting and writing six new episodes that will be Vikingane / Norsemen 3. If everything goes according to plan, production will start in the spring with its TV premiere set for Autumn 2019.”
Norsemen season two launches 26th September on Netflix.
