The Restaurant (Vår tid är nu) returns for a special four part fourth season with a twist – it is set between seasons one and two during the summer of 1951. Måns Herngren (Solsidan) is on board to direct.
In season four, the Löwander family and staff move out to the archipelago where they continue their tradition of running a summer restaurant, and the family’s matriarch Helga is back at the helm with chef Backe at her side.
Nina (Hedda Stiernstedt) has been discharged from the hospital but has not yet fully recovered., while Calle (Charlie Gustafsson) makes plans for the holidays with his wife Sonja and their son, but his thoughts elsewhere.
Out in the archipelago, old memories are awakened and Helga (Suzanne Reuter) wastes no time in directing Nina’s future while her husband Erik is back at their estate in Skåne.
Director Måns Herngren said: “I am a big fan of the series. When I was asked to direct the new special season, I didn’t have to think for long before I accepted. It is an honour and very exciting to be a part of telling the Löwander family saga and Nina and Calle’s powerful love story.”
The Restaurant season four will air Christmas 2020 on SVT and on Viaplay in 2021.
