A Man Called Ove Wins Best Comedy At Film Awards

In a ceremony held on Saturday night, Hannes Holm’s A Man Called Ove was declared Best European Comedy at the 29th European Film Awards in Wroclaw, Poland.
In A Man Called Ove, Rolf Lassgård plays the block’s grumpy old man who has been deposed as president of the condominium association, but continues rule over the neighbourhood with an iron fist. However, When pregnant Parvaneh and her family move into the terraced house opposite an unexpected friendship develops.
The role of Ove provided Lassgård with his second Guldbagge for Best Actor earlier this year, when the film also took home the Audience Award and Best Make-Up, which went to Oscar nominees Eva von Bahr and Love Larson.
Other Nordic winners at the 2016 European Film Awards were The Happiest Day In The Life Of Olli Maki with the Prix Fipresci, The Commune claimed Best European Editor, and Land Of Mine picked up three awards: European Hair & Make-Up Artist, European Costume Designer, European Cinematographer
