MTG has announced that new ten-part thriller The Lawyer (Advokaten), by Jens Lapidus (Easy Money), Hans Rosenfeldt (The Bridge) and Michael Hjorth (The Fjällbacka Murders), will premiere on Viaplay and TV3 this autumn.
The Lawyer follows the dangerous descent of Swedish defence lawyer Frank Nordling (Alexander Karim) into the Copenhagen underworld. When he discovers that the firm’s most important client is responsible for the murder of his parents, Nordling is drawn into a life-threatening web of violence and revenge.
Alexander Karim (Tyrant) says: “I knew straight away that this was a once-in-a-lifetime role. It’s a privilege to take on such a complex character in a nuanced human drama paired with high-adrenaline action.”
Rosenfeldt and Hjorth are both successful screenwriters and directors in their own right, and have previously collaborated on Sebastian Bergman (Den fördömde). However, for lawyer and best-selling author Jens Lapidus this is his first foray into television, but he believes that there are parallels between this medium and literature.
