Alicia Vikander Developing Dial M For Murder Anthology

The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Alicia Vikander (Tomb Raider) is developing an anthology drama with Terence Winter (The Sopranos) based on the play Dial M for Murder by Frederick Knott.
The original story follows a tennis player who discovers that his wealthy socialite wife has had an affair with a crime fiction writer so decides to murder her both for revenge and to ensure a comfortable retirement.
However, the anthology series will offer a fresh take on Frederick Knott’s original 1952 play and subsequent 1954 Alfred Hitchcock crime thriller told from a female perspective with Alicia Vikander expected to star and Michael Mitnick (Vinyl) on board for writing duties.
If picked up by a network, Dial M For Murder would mark Alicia Vikander’s debut on US television, although she has found success internationally in features such as Ex Machina, The Danish Girl and Tomb Raider.
