Anders W. Berthelsen Makes Solo Directorial Debut

Anders W. Berthelsen, veteran actor and co-director of box-office hit Daniel (Ser du månen, Daniel), has begun production on his solo directorial debut Lykkelige omstændigheder, a romantic comedy about two very different sisters based on a script by Kim Fupz Aakeson (The One and Only).

Karoline (Roberta Reichhardt) and her boyfriend Ronny (Joachim Fjelstrup), an unemployed DJ, are in deep debt. Meanwhile, her sister Katrine (Sofie Torp) however has everything she could dream of in her relationship with successful head of construction Markus (Esben Smed). Everything except kids.

So when Karoline accidentally becomes pregnant, Katrine devises a cunning plan that could solve both of their problems: Katrine will pay off her sister’s debt plus a little bit more in exchange for the baby. Karoline simply can’t refuse this offer, but nothing goes as planned…

Lykkelige omstændigheder (Happy Circumstances) is currently filming in Berthelsen’s hometown of Kolding before moving on to Copenhagen and is slated to receive a theatrical premiere on 7th April 2022.
