Annika Berg’s Team Hurricane For Venice Critics Week

The National Union of Italian Film Critics has revealed that Annika Berg’s debut Team Hurricane (aka Forever 13) will be among the seven films to compete at this year’s Venice International Film Critics’ Week, a sidebar of the Venice Film Festival (30th August – 9th September).

Team Hurricane is an experimental teen drama that celebrates teenage girls who dare to be loud, annoying, vulgar and vulnerable. It tells the story of eight girls who spend the summer together in a youth club, and how that slowly makes each of them bloom.

Annika Berg describes her film as a “punk chick flick about radical girls in an ordinary world” which takes the form of a series of expressive moments created in collaboration between the director and her actors.

Also selected for Critics’ Week are Pin Cushion by Deborah Haywood, Crater by Luca Bellino and Silvia Luzi, Drift by Helena Wittman, The Wild Boys by Bertrand Mandico, The Gulf by Emre Yeksan, Sarah Plays A Werewolf by Katharina Wyss, Hunting Season by Natalia Garagiola, and Poison – The Land Of Fires by Diego Olivares.
