Berlinale To Showcase Nordic Dramas Seeking Partners

On February 16th, the Berlinale is to host its exclusive CoPro event, where seven selected TV projects are given the chance to pitch for co-production and financing partners. Peter Nadermann (Nadcon Film, Germany) and Jan de Clercq (Lumière Publishing, Belgium) are supporting the Berlinale Co-Production Market team as advisors.

CoPro offers registered participants, producers and financiers from the Berlinale Co-Production Market and the Drama Series Days strand the opportunity to get to know the series’ creators at a networking event following their pitch, and arrange one-on-one meetings to discuss potential partnerships in more detail.

Among the CoPro selection are the Danish mini series Lucky Per (Nordisk Film Production), which will be directed by Academy Award winner Bille August (Night Train To Lisbon), and the Norwegian crime series Brotherhood (Friland Produksjon).

In addition, the Danish series DNA (Eyeworks Scandi Fiction) will be presented to the co-production forum Séries Mania, which is organised by Forum des Images. DNA creator and writer Torleif Hoppe (The Killing) is invited to Berlin as an alumni of Séries Mania 2015, whilst one of the other six projects being presented to CoPro will have the opportunity to go to this April’s Séries Mania in Paris.

The selected projects for CoPro 2016 are:

Avrupa (Circe Film), The Netherlands

Brotherhood (Friland Produksjon), Norway

DNA (Eyeworks Scandi Fiction), Denmark

Lucky Per (Nordisk Film Production), Denmark

The Disappearance (23/5 Filmproduktion), Germany
