Borgen Creator Begins Ride Upon The Storm

DR1’s new 20 part drama Ride Upon The Storm (Herrens Veje) created by Adam Price (Borgen) begins filming this month.
Ride Upon The Storm is inspired by the story of Cain and Abel and centres on a priest family in the Danish Church. In the lead roles are Lars Mikkelsen and Ann Eleonora Jørgensen as the parents, with Simon Sears and Morten Hee Andersen playing their two adult sons.
Head writer, Adam Price, says: “Faith has always fascinated me as a driver of human actions. In the last 10-15 years we have seen an intensification of the relationship between the great world religions, which affects both big politics and everyone’s everyday lives.”
“Just as politics became the starting point for a very personal narrative for the main characters in Borgen, religion and faith are the underlying forces in Rides Upon The Storm.”
Series producer, Camilla Hammerich, says: “The series works with faith as a concept in a broader context of what leads us through life. Awakening (when faith looks for a place within us) and perdition (when faith leaves us) are the show’s dramatic extremes, and extremes that most of the main characters live through in their journey.”
Ride Upon The Storm will premiere on DR1 in autumn 2017 for its first 10 episodes, and will return in autumn 2018 to conclude its run.
