Broder Daniel Celebrated At Göteborg Festival

One of Sweden’s most iconic bands, Broder Daniel, will be celebrated at the 2019 Göteborg Film Festival (25th January – 4th February) with the world premiere of the documentary I’ll Be Gone by American film makers Amelia Trask and Sasha Hecht.

I’ll Be Gone attempts to unravel the truth behind Broder Daniel, a band steeped in controversy and media hype, through first-hand accounts from fans, artists, friends, and lead singer Henrik Berggren.

The band gained a vast and loyal fanbase during their twenty years, and played their farewell show at Way Out West in 2008, three months after the tragic death of guitarist Andreas Göthberg.

Sasha Hecht said: “We could not be more excited and honored to premiere I’ll Be Gone at the Göteborg Film Festival. Not only because Broder Daniel is an important Göteborg band, but had it not have been for their fans and supporters who kept the band’s heritage alive for all these years, the film would not have existed.”

I’ll Be Gone premieres 29th January at Draken in Göteborg followed by a party night in tribute to Broder Daniel, featuring live performances from some of Sweden’s most exciting music acts and a DJ set from Henrik Berggren himself.
