C More Confirms Sthlm Requiem Sequel

C More has announced Kapningen (The Hijacking), a high-octane sequel to Sthlm Requiem (Sthlm Rekviem) when Fredrika Bergman (Liv Mjönes) and Alex Recht (Jonas Karlsson) are reunited several years later during an airplane hijacking where the motive is far more complex and personal than they could possibly imagine.
An aircraft is on its way from Stockholm to San Francisco when a message is received that it will be blown up unless a Lebanese man detained in Stockholm is released, and that certain secret documents are published immediately. To solve this crisis, Fredrika Bergman from the Ministry of Justice is reunited with Police Superintendent Alex Recht along with SÄPO agent Eden Lundell (Ana Gil de Melo Nascimento).
The cast also includes Rita Hjelm, Zardasht Rad, Peshang Rad, Peter Carlberg, Görel Crona, Klas Wiljergård, Staffan Kihlbom Thor, Hannes Fohlin and Lena Carlsson.
Head of Drama for C More, Piodor Gustafsson, said: “Sthlm Rekviem was a series of feature-length book adaptations but this stand-alone sequel will focus on just one story. It takes place over the course of a single day, which is a challenge, but with brilliant characters, intelligent plot building, and Karin Fahlén’s safe direction, we look forward to a breathtaking series with many unexpected twists and turns.”
Kapningen, written by Max Barron and directed by Karin Fahlén, begins filming later this month.
