C More Reveals The Truth With Sofia Helin

C More has announced Sanningen (The Truth), emotional crime drama about sisterhood, parenthood, guilt, grief and how to move on after a trauma. The series is created by Camilla Ahlgren (The Bridge) and stars Sofia Helin.

Due to a tragedy, Iris Broman (Sofia Helin) leaves Stockholm for Ystad to live with her half-sister Katti (Hedda Stiernstedt) house by the sea and is appointed Head of the Cold Case team in Malmö. But one particular cold case turns life turned upside down for a number of people in the area whose lives are intertwined with it. What was the truth then, what is the truth now, and what will be the consequences?

Sofia Helin said: “I always want to continue working with people I think are talented and interesting, as is the case with screenwriter Camilla Ahlgren. In this way, the process and teamwork are deepened, and we can continue to challenge each other… The story of Sanningen raises for me the question of how a person progresses after a trauma. When you can’t get any resolution, is it possible to embrace the light again.”

C More Head Of Drama, Piodor Gustafsson, added: “We are very excited about Sanningen, a strong character-driven drama with a clear local DNA spiced with an unsolved old disappearance. We have a really talented and interesting creative team, which will deliver a unique and original series. Led by two of our foremost actresses, Sanningen has the potential to become one of our biggest series.”

Sanningen, directed by Linnéa Roxeheim, has begun filming in Malmö, Ystad and the surrounding area and is slated to premiere on C More in 2023.
