Channel 4 To Remake Before We Die For UK

Channel 4 has announced Before We Die, a six-part remake of hit Swedish crime thriller Innan vi dör, with Lesley Sharp (Scott & Bailey) confirmed for the lead role.

Before We Die follows Detective Hannah Laing (Lesley Sharp) who is deeply conflicted when she discovers that her son Christian (Patrick Gibson) has a crucial part to play in a brutal murder investigation as an undercover informant.

The cast also includes Toni Gojanović (Success) as gang boss Davor Mimica, with Vincent Regan (Wallander) to play Billy Murdoch, a non-conformist investigator who is seconded to Hannah’s unit to advise on Eastern European drug gangs.

Executive Producer, Jo McGrath, said: “Before We Die is a powerful and original series which uses the grammar and architecture of a nail-biting crime thriller to tell the compelling emotional story of a mother and son’s dysfunctional relationship, beautifully juxtaposed against the close-knit ties of the crime family they are trying to bring to justice.”

Directed by Jan Matthys (Baptiste), Before We Die will be filmed in Bristol and Belgium through Autumn and Winter 2020.
