Connie Nielsen Joins Christopher Eccleston In Close To Me

Viaplay has announced that its latest original will be a six-part English language adaptation of the novel Close To Me by Amanda Reynolds, with Connie Nielsen (Wonder Woman) to star alongside Christopher Eccleston (Doctor Who).
Close to Me follows Jo Harding (Connie Nielsen), a woman who seems to have it all with a beautiful house in the country, a loving family and a devoted husband (Christopher Eccleston). But, following a fall, an entire year suddenly vanishes from Jo’s memory. As she struggles to piece events together, Jo discovers that her life wasn’t quite as perfect as she imagined, and that someone will do all they can to keep a terrible secret from her.
Viaplay Head Of Content, Filippa Wallestam, said: “This inventive, unsettling and fascinating drama uncovers the deception that can lie below the surface of a seemingly perfect family life. The constantly twisting plot, straight to camera dialogue and great indie soundtrack will draw in viewers.
“Connie Nielsen and Christopher Eccleston are hugely charismatic talents and this series asks a question that everyone can relate to – what do we really know about ourselves and those closest to us?”
Close To Me goes into production in the UK later this month and will premiere on Viaplay across the Nordic and Baltic regions in 2021. Channel 4 has acquired the series for the UK.
