Countrymen & Mister 8 To Compete At Canneseries

Countrymen (Norway) and Mister 8 (Finland) have been selected to compete in the 4th edition of Canneseries (8 – 13 October), to be held at the Grand Auditorium Louis Lumière and the Espace Miramar.

Countrymen (Jordbrukerne), written by Izer Aliu and Anne Bjørnstad, is the story of four men with dubious plans who move to a farm in the Telemark countryside and, more or less against their will, end up founding Norway’s first halal cheesemaking business.

Mister 8, written by Vesa Virtanen, follows Maria who has more than enough love in her life with seven partners, one for each day of the week. But things become complicated when she falls in love with Juho because, sadly, there aren’t eight days in a week.

Completing the competition line-up for Canneseries are Awake (Serbia), Christian (Italy), Dreams Of Alice (Russia), Limbo Until It’s Over (Argentina), Sad City Girls (Israel), The Allegation (Germany), Totems (France) and Unknowns (Israel).

The winner will be revealed on 13th October, decided by a jury chaired by Game Of Thrones star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau.
