Sportbladet reports that, six years after I’m Zlatan was published, author David Lagercrantz (The Girl In The Spider’s Web) is in the process of adapting the biography of Manchester United forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic into a feature film.
Written by David Lagercrantz, I’m Zlatan sold over 800,000 copies in Sweden alone and was published in over thirty countries. The movie adaptation will chart Zlatan’s life from the age of nine through to his time at Juventus.
David Lagercrantz told Sportbladet: “I have met with Zlatan and discussed the project carefully. We are both very excited about this… His growth is the real drama in the book – this is The American Dream, but this time it’s in Swedish.”
The script is expected to be complete in March 2018, after which the search for a director, cast and crew will begin.
