Debut Set For Viaplay Hidden Fantasy Thriller

Viaplay has announced a February premiere for Hidden – Förstfödd, an eight part urban fantasy thriller starring August Wittgenstein (The Crown) and Izabella Scorupco (Goldeneye), where dark secrets, unsuspected identities and supernatural forces converge in modern day Stockholm.

Based on the novel Förstfödd by Filip Alexanderson, a law student (August Wittgenstein) is working on building sites to support his sick mother when he is involved in a serious accident. Despite being pronounced dead, he discovers that that he can regenerate himself and returns to life.

From that moment on his life is turned upside down. It becomes clear that he is being hunted and is forced to escape into the shadows of Stockholm where there are others with supernatural powers, known as The Hidden.

Meanwhile, Eldh (Izabella Scorupco), a trained boxer who takes care of The Hidden, helps the police and social services to investigate cases involving their underground world, and offers support to those who have just discovered that they have powers.

Hidden, directed by Jonathan Sjöberg (Black Lake), who co-wrote the series with Björn Paqualin (Occupied), premieres 1st February 2019 on Viaplay and will air later on TV3 in Sweden.
