Elisa Viihde Orders Hannu Salonen To Arctic Circle

It has been announced that new ten-part crime thriller Arctic Circle, directed by Hannu Salonen, will start filming in Finnish Lapland during the winter of 2017-2018.

In Arctic Circle, a policewoman finds a prostitute tied up in chains inside a remote old cabin. She then quickly finds two women dead at the same property. The ensuing murder investigation includes a sexual virus and hunt for the killer, with the threat of the virus only intensifying as the series progresses.

Executive Producer, Moritz Polter, says: “With Hannu Salonen’s vision for this riveting story, we are sure Arctic Circle will be elevated to global success.”

The series was commissioned by steaming service Elisa Viihde and Finnish broadcaster YLE as a co-production with Bavaria Fernsehproduktion. It will premiere on Elisa Viihde in 2018 and then air later on YLE.
