Art Crime Planned For Enkelstöten Season Two
Hit Swedish comedy drama Enkelstöten (A Simple Heist), based on the 1976 book by Tomas Arvidsson, begins filming a second season this autumn, and this time the daring duo have their sights set on art crime.
The first season introduced maths teacher Jenny (Lotta Tejle) and doctor Cecilia (Sissela Kyle), two mature ladies from Kalmar who find themselves in financial difficulty and with an uncertain future. Out of desperation, they stage a bank robbery, with unforeseen consequences.
In season two, Jenny and Cecilia decide to steal some art from the Calmare Fellows gentlemen’s club. They think that it’s high time the tax dodging old men who frequent there should learn to share a little.
Director, Felix Herngren, said: “I am very fond of the characters in Enkelstöten and their lives. Not least of all the duo of Jenny and Cecilia… So will be fun to go deeper with a second season, when the world is already there, ready to be explored.”
Executive Producer, Lisa Dahlberg, added: “Now Jenny has her apartment in Kalmar and Cecilia has a house in France. But they want more, and I look forward to seeing them wrestle with their conscience again.”
Season two of Enkelstöten premieres next spring on TV4 and the first season, which averaged 974,000 viewers when first it aired, is currently available on C More.
