Filming Underway For HBO Nordic Original Gösta

Filming is now underway in the forests of Småland in Southern Sweden for eight-part comedy drama Gösta, written and directed by Lukas Moodysson (Show Me Love), about a child psychologist who moves from the city to a small rural town.

Gösta (Vilhelm Blomgren) is a 28-year-old child psychologist who gets his first job at BUP in a small town in Småland. He moves from Stockholm and hires a cabin in the middle of the forest. He wants to be the world’s kindest man and help everyone he meets. Sometimes it goes well, sometimes less well…

Vilhelm Blomgren recently starred as Claude in a production of Hair at the Göteborg Opera, and as Freddy Eynsford-Hill in My Fair Lady at the Stockholm City Theatre. The cast also includes Amy Deasismont, Mattias Silvell, Clara Christiansson, Regina Lund, Nidhal Fares, Elisabet Carlsson and Gustav Berg.

Gösta, which Lukas Moodysson describes as “a mix of comedy and Dostoevsky”, is the first original series by HBO Nordic and will premiere across HBO Europe in autumn 2019.
