Five Guldbagge Wins For The Nile Hilton Incident

During a gala ceremony hosted by Petra Mede (Bonus Family) on Monday at Cirkus in Stockholm, The Nile Hilton Incident was the big winner on the night with five wins at the 2018 Guldbagge Awards.

Tarik Saleh’s The Nile Hilton Incident, about a hotel murder that some very important people don’t want solved, picked up five wins from its eight nominations with Best Film, Best Actor, Best Costume, Best Sound Design, and Best Set Design.

Meanwhile, Amanda Kernell’s debut feature Sami Blood, which tells the story of a Sámi girl exposed to racism in the 1930s who dreams of another life, won Best Script, Best Actress, Best Editing, and the Audience Award.

However, Ruben Östlund’s Palme d’Or winner and Oscar hopeful The Square did not walk away empty handed, with wins for Best Director and Best Cinematography.
