Four Nominations For Another Round At European Film Awards

The European Film Academy has announced that Another Round (Druk) by Thomas Vinterberg has been nominated in four categories, including Best Film, at the 33rd European Film Awards (8 – 12 December) which will be held as a series of virtual events this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Another Round follows four friends, all high school teachers, who test a theory that they will work and live better by maintaining a constant level of alcohol in their blood. Their initial results are positive with classes and results improving, but as they continue the experiment the results become more extreme.

In addition to Best Film, which it also recently won at the London Film Festival, Another Round has earned nominations at the European Film Awards for Thomas Vinterberg as Best Director, Mads Mikkelsen as Best Actor, and Thomas Vinterberg and Tobias Lindholm are jointly nominated for Best Script.

Meanwhile, Maria Sødahl has also been nominated for Best Director with her feature Hope (Håp), alongside Andrea Bræin Hovig who is nominated for Best Actress. The film follows Anja and Tomas who share a home but have grown apart, and when Anja develops terminal brain cancer their neglected love is exposed as their lives break down.
