Siblings Sophie and Sebastian carry a dark and fatal secret. In order to survive they must feed on the life force of other people, and if they do not stop in time then their sacrifice will burn up. Sofie and Sebastian’s search for answers as to why they are the way that they are leads them to the gloomy boarding school Ottmannsgaard

Sofie and Sebastian find out why their mother was interested in the boarding school. Head prefect Ditlev has started to prepare a baptism in the marshes for the new students.

Sophie and Sebastian discover a stack of old paintings that are important to them. Ditlev is obsessed with Sofie, while Sofie and Emilie are becoming better friends.

4.
The entire boarding school is shaken by the death. Headmaster Just declares the incident a suicide to keep the police at bay while he conducts his own investigation at the school. Sofie and Sebastian try to keep a low profile.

5.
Sebastian pushes Sofie to leverage her relationship with Emilie to obtain more information. Nadja still represents a great danger, and Just makes a disclosure.
