Iceland Sends Lamb To Oscars 2022

The Icelandic Oscar Committee has announced that Lamb (Dýrið), directed by Valdimar Jóhansson, will be submitted as its entry for Best International Feature Film at the 94th Academy Awards.
Lamb is a dark and atmospheric folk tale about a childless couple María (Noomi Rapace) and Ingvar (Hilmir Snaer Gudnason) who live on a remote sheep farm. When they discover a mysterious newborn on their farmland, they decide to keep it and raise it as their own, but while their new family brings them much joy, it ultimately destroys them as they face the consequences of defying the will of nature.
The 94th Academy Awards will be presented by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences during a gala ceremony at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday 27th March 2022. A shortlist of fifteen films will be announced by the Academy on 21st December 2021 and the final five nominees will be revealed on 8th February 2022.
