Iceland’s The Lava Field Goes Global With Netflix

Netflix has acquired streaming rights for 2014 Icelandic crime thriller The Lava Field (Hraunið), which will be showwn in several territories worldwide.

In The Lava Field, Reykjavik detective Helgi Marvin Runarsson is called in to investigate an apparent suicide case, but it turns out to be far from simple. As he follows the evidence, Helgi’s own hidden secrets are unearthed. Will he turn a blind eye to murder in order to save his daughter’s life?

The Lava Field is available on Netflix in the UK, Ireland, USA, Canada, Belgium, France, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Australia, and New Zealand. It will not be available in Iceland for the time being, since RUV still hold the rights for repeat showings.
