International Intrigue For Chief Inspector Ratamo

Distributor Federation Entertainment has boarded ten-part Finnish political espionage thriller Secret Enemies (Ratamo) as co-producer and will take the show to MIPTV in Cannes for international sales next month (9 – 12 April).
Devised by Roope Lehtinen and Mikko Pöllä (Black Widows) based on the Arto Ratamo series of books by Taavi Soininvaara, Secret Enemies is written by Timo Varpio (Downshifters) who won a Venla Award in 2002 for Kultakuume.com.
When Chief Inspector Arto Ratamo (Samuel Vauramo) is called in to investigate the death of the Finnish Prime Minister’s chauffeur, he feels sure that there is more to the case than meets the eye, and starts to suspect the Prime Minister himself.
However, it transpires that a Russian oligarch is spying on the Finnish government and a battle with the Kremlin pushes Finland to the brink of war with Russia. Arto Ratamo must expose the oligarch’s ruthless manipulation of diplomatic relations before Finland is invaded.
The cast also includes Saara Kotkaniemi (Bordertown), Jukka Puotila (Kotikatu), Andrei Tsumak (Lapland Odyssey) and Ivan Mathias Petersson (Gåsmamman).
Secret Enemies was filmed in Berlin and Helsinki last year and will air domestically on MTV3 in Finland.
