Irvine Welsh To Adapt Torpederna For The US

Paramount Television are developing Legbreakers, an English language version of the hit Swedish drama Torpederna. Novelist and playwright Irvine Welsh (Trainspotting) will adapt the series, with Fredrik Bond to direct.

The original series follows Sonny who is released from prison after serving six years behind bars. During his time in prison he started a secret relationship with his social worker Camilla, and now just wants to live an ordinary life. But finding a decent job is not easy and the temptation remains for him to return to his criminal roots.

Torpederna showrunner Felix Herngren will serve as executive producer along with Pontus Edgren, managing director of FLX, which is Herngren and Edgren’s Swedish production company.
