IT Sequel Begins Filming In Toronto This Summer

Indiewire has revealed that Andy Muschietti’s sequel to last year’s adaptation of Stephen King’s IT, starring Bill Skarsgård as Pennywise the clown, will begin filming this July in Toronto.
IT tells the story of seven adults who return to their hometown of Derry, Maine to confront a nightmare they had first stumbled upon as teenagers… An evil without a name… IT.
However, the movie released last September told only the half of the story, focusing on the protagonists as children. The concluding part jumps ahead 27 years and tells the adults’ story.
The adult cast remains under wraps, but Oscar nominee Jessica Chastain who starred in Muschietti’s first feature Mama, produced by his sister Barbara, is in negotiations to play Beverly Marsh.
When asked by Screen Rant about her possible involvement in IT, Chastain said: “I love Andy and Barbara. They’re my friends. They’re like my family. Anything that they’re doing I want to be a part of, so I hope we can make it happen.”
The sequel to IT is slated for a theatrical release on 6th September 2019.
