Director Joachim Trier is currently filming The Worst Person In The World (Verdens verste menneske) in Trollhättan, a melancholic comedy about love in our time that concludes the Oslo Trilogy which began with Reprise in 2006 and continued with Oslo, August 31st in 2011.
Julie (Renate Reinsve) is approaching 30 years old and in a long-term relationship with Aksel (Anders Danielsen Lie). They share an apartment in Oslo with plenty of books and friends who have children. However, the books and friends are mostly Aksel’s, and Julie is struggling to find a direction in life – she is not ready for children, unlike Aksel.
When Julie sneaks into a party and meets young and energetic Eivind (Herbert Nordrum), it’s a night she cannot forget. So, when they bump into each other again, Julie leaves Aksel in the hope of something new and meaningful. But a year later she learns that Aksel has become seriously ill and visits him in hospital where a new honesty emerges.
The Worst Person In The World is slated for a theatrical premiere in Autumn 2021.
