Josephine Bornebusch Creates Viaplay Social Distancing Drama

Viaplay has announced Orca, an experimental drama written and directed by Josephine Bornebusch (Love Me) which will explore issues such as intimacy and isolation at this time of social distancing.

The series characters will primarily interact through their phones and screens, and this sense of isolation will be mirrored during production as the cast film their scenes individually with minimal crew present.

The cast includes Johan Rheborg (Partisan), Gustav Lindh (Love Me), Alba August (Becoming Astrid), Peter Andersson (Agent Hamilton), Vera Vitali (Conspiracy of Silence), and Josephine Bornebusch (Solsidan).

Viaplay Chief Content Officer, Filippa Wallestam, said: “Social distancing is the story of our time, but behind the headlines lie millions of personal dramas… Josephine Bornebusch’s latest Viaplay original dramatises some of the emotional impact of this extraordinary situation and asks what togetherness can mean when we’re apart.”

Orca begins filming next week and is set to premiere on Viaplay across the Nordic region in Autumn 2020.
