Julia Ragnarsson & Matias Varela Lead Blinded

Julia Ragnarsson (Spring Tide) and Matias Varela (Narcos) will lead Blinded (Fartblinda), an eight-part adaptation of Carolina Neurath’s book, inspired by her experience as a financial journalist during the collapse of HQ Bank in 2010.

The story follows young journalist Bea Farkas (Julia Ragnarsson) in pursuit of her next scoop. But when she discovers financial irregularities in the trading department of ST Bank, where Peder Rooth (Matias Varela) is the CEO, Bea’s pursuit of the truth comes at a higher price than she could have imagined.

Julia Ragnarsson said: “I feel humble and grateful for this opportunity… I think viewers will find Blinded to be a fresh take, something out of the ordinary. We haven’t had a Swedish thriller set in this environment before…”

“It’s really exciting to be working with Matias and a fantastic directing duo (Jens Jonsson and Johan Lundin) for this project. It’s also great that there are so many other amazing actors in our large ensemble, many of whom I have not worked with before.”

Matias Varela added: “Getting to work with Julia for the first time feels like an indulgence. In a way, it feels like coming home. I started my career on TV4 (as Misha Zantos in Nya tider) and haven’t worked much in Sweden in recent years. So now to be working in Sweden with C More and TV4 feels like coming home.”

Blinded begins filming later this month. It will premiere on C More and then air later on TV4.
