Kristallen 2021 Nominees Revealed

The nominees have been revealed for Kristallen 2021, which rewards innovative thinking, originality and craftmanship in Swedish television, to be presented at Cirkus in Stockholm on 27th August during a gala ceremony hosted by actress Sissela Kyle and journalist Parisa Amiri.

Twenty-one statues will be handed out during the ceremony, of which sixteen will be decided by a jury, three by the audience, along with a special jury prize and an honorary prize bestowed by the Kristallen board. However, there are just three categories that are drama specific: Best Drama, Best Actor and Best Actress.

The deciding jury, chaired by director Hannes Holm, comprises: Anna Bråkenhielm, Pelle Porseryd, Anders Palmgren, Peter Lindström, Pia Johansson, Karin Bäckmark, Karin Hübinette and Gina Dirawi.

Head Of Kristallen, Peter Nyrén, said: “It feels fantastic to plan a live gala in front of an audience again. We will adhere to current restrictions and aim to have 300 guests in the auditorium, but of course we have alternative plans in case the pandemic should worsen. We long to once again be able to praise and pay tribute to the best TV of the year in an entertaining, festive and dignified way.”
