Lagercrantz To Continue Millenium Series In 2017

It has been announced that the fifth instalment in the Millennium series, written by David Lagercrantz, will be released on September 7th 2017. It will be published simultaneously in twenty countries, including the US, UK, France and Germany.
Norstedts Publishing Director, Eva Gedin, says: “I have just read the first draft of the upcoming book. It’s great to once again be working with David, and a new Millennium Story… Like last time, the book will be released simultaneously worldwide. And I can promise that it will be as exciting as the last time.”
Stieg Larsson’s original Millenium Trilogy has sold more than 80 million copies worldwide and, despite the initial controversy that he would be continuing the series, The Girl in the Spider’s Web by David Lagercrantz has sold 6 million copies so far in more than 40 countries.
Lagercrantz intends to donate some of the proceeds from his Millennium books to the Swedish charity Läsrörelsen, which he works with in the fight against illiteracy. He says:
“I am now working to get young people to read good literature. I think that it is more important than ever at a time when right-wing populism and extremism is growing stronger.”
“We constantly see reports that those attracted by these forces are mainly the the ones who do not read books and haven’t been taught critical thinking.”
