Lars Mikkelsen Nominated For Emmy Award

Lars Mikkelsen has been nominated for Best Actor at the 2018 International Emmy Awards in recognition of his role in Ride Upon the Storm (Herrens Veje), for which he won Best Actor in a TV drama at this year’s Robert Awards.

Ride Upon the Storm follows a family, headed by Johannes (Lars Mikkelsen), who have been priests for more than 250 years. However, his sons are now desperate to free themselves from his tyranny, so the devout August becomes an army chaplain in the Middle East, while wayward Christian heads to Tibet.

Bruce L. Paisner, President and CEO of the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, said: “Look at the diversity & geographic spread of this year’s nominations across all continents and platforms. It is clear that excellence in television is a global phenomenon which transcends culture and language.”

Nominations for Best Actor at this year’s International Emmy Awards are rounded out by Julio Andrade in Um Contra Todos (Brazil), Billy Campbell in Cardinal (Canada), and Tolga Saritas in Soz (Turkey).

The winner will be announced on 19th November during a gala ceremony at the Hilton New York Hotel.
