Love Me Gets Second Season Ahead Of Premiere

Ahead of its premiere on 11th October, Viaplay has ordered a second season of Älska mig (Love Me), a six part comedy drama written and directed by Josephine Bornebusch (Solsidan).

Älska mig, which was recently picked up by ABC for a US remake, stars Josephine Bornebusch alongside Sverrir Gudnason (Borg McEnroe) in a story of friendship, grief and romance for three generations living in Stockholm.

Clara (Josephine Bornebusch) is a successful doctor struggling to navigate the maze of internet dating when Peter (Sverrir Gudnason) turns up and rocks her world. Meanwhile, her father (Johan Ulveson) faces the biggest crisis of his life, and little brother Aron (Gustav Lindh) seems to be the only emotionally stable one in the family.

Josephine Bornebusch said: “The interest from the US is obviously overwhelming and very exciting, but right now I am most looking forward to finally sharing the first season with viewers here at home in Sweden.”

“I have tried to make a series in the tone and genre that I would like to see myself. That’s why it’s been so much fun to write and direct Älska mig . I am also so happy to be able to collaborate with such talented actors, and to write a second season for the same ensemble is like a dream.”

The second season of Älska mig begins filming this autumn and is expected to premiere on Viaplay in autumn 2020.
