Malin Åkerman Ready For The Final Race

Filming is underway for motor racing comedy The Final Race (Ett sista race), directed by Edward af Sillén (A Piece Of My Heart), which is said to be inspired by the hit Norwegian film franchise Burning (Børning). Swedish comedian David Hellenius and Malin Åkerman (Billions) are set to lead.
The Final Race tells the story of the street racing legend Dennis (David Hellenius), who has lived his whole life on the wrong side of the law. After neglecting his marriage and being absent for most of his 16-year-old daughter Hanna’s (Elsa Örhn) life, Dennis has decided to start living a responsible and quiet life.
But this is soon disrupted when Dennis finds out that Hanna is taking part in a race with her new boyfriend Charlie (Malte Gårdinger). Dennis and his ex-wife Tove (Malin Åkerman) set out to bring their daughter safely back home, which takes them on a race through Sweden and a journey that they will never forget.
The cast also includes Jonas Karlsson (Beck), Johan Glans (The Simple Heist), Johan Ulveson (Bonus Family), Peter Dalle (The Restaurant), Ola Forssmed (Rederiet), Sissela Kyle, Sara Soulie, and Malte Gårdinger.
Edward af Sillén said: “I am always driven by an enormous desire to do things that the cinema audience has not seen before – and have for a long time had a secret dream of making a great Swedish car action comedy. So, with this dream cast and a magical team around me it is just to fasten your seat belt and drive!”
The Final Race begins filming this week in western Sweden before moving on to Norrbotten and is slated for a Swedish theatrical release on Christmas Day 2023, followed by an international release and launch on C More/TV4.
