Maniac is the story of Espen, a man in his thirties who is loved by everyone. Every day is a party and there’s no limit to what he can experience. His life is almost too good to be true…

In truth, Espen has completely withdrawn from reality and is a patient on a psychiatric ward where his newly appointed therapist, Mina, has taken a keen interest in his case.

However, Espen’s imaginary friend Håkon is determined to derail Mina’s efforts, and keep Espen in a fantasy world where he can be a superhero rather than an everyday loser.
