Maria Wern Returns For Her Tenth Anniversary

Hit crime drama Maria Wern, based on the series of books by Anna Jansson, celebrated its tenth anniversary this week as it returned to TV4 with the first of four new films.

Maria (Eva Röse) faces political threats during Almedal Week, a high school hostage drama and a mysterious disappearance with Russian connections. Meanwhile, her relationship with Sebastian (Erik Johansson) deepens but is increasingly put to the test…

Moreover, Maria has spent the last ten years wondering what really happened to her husband, father to her two children, when he was brutally murdered. Now the answer finally seems within reach.

Eva Röse said: “It’s amazing that it’s been ten years since the first season! I’m so proud that it just keeps getting better and better. It has been great to be involved with the development of this character and her universe and, without giving too much away, I’m quite pleased with where she’s at in her life right now.”

The new season of Maria Wern, directed by Erik Leijonborg and Liza Farzaneh, continues Wednesday on TV4, and is available to stream in its entirety on C More.
