Marie Richardson & Peter Stormare Begin Filming Tuesday Club

Filming has begun in Gothenburg for Tuesday Club, starring Marie Richardson (Before We Die) and Peter Stormare (Fargo), a feel good feature about love, friendship and food based on the novel by Anna Fredriksson.

Karin (Marie Richardson) isn’t really thinking when she registers for an evening course in Asian cooking every other Tuesday, led by passionate and chef Henrik (Peter Stormare). She only knows that she needs to break from the anxiety and loneliness that she has felt since her husband’s infidelity.

Karin meets life-affirming Monika at the cookery course and they start to call themselves the Tuesday Club. Energised by this friendship, Karin realises that her life has not passed an expiry date and wonders if she dare give in to her innermost desires and follow her dreams.

Peter Stormare said: “I am both proud and pleased to be asked to join Tuesday Club. A wonderful script, with unique characters. The fact that it is written by a woman, directed by a woman and the main characters are women makes this a unique project that comes along once in a lifetime… That Marie Richardson plays the lead role is the icing on the cake.”

Marie Richardson added: “I am really looking forward to playing Karin in this sensual and passionate comedy with my friends. And with Peter Stormare playing star chef Henrik, it makes things extra special. A sweet reunion – we played together in theatre with Ingmar Bergman thirty years ago.”

Tuesday Club (Tisdagsklubben), directed by Annika Appelin, is slated for a theatrical release in 2022.
