Netflix Reveals Battle: Freestyle Trailer

Netflix has released a trailer for Battle: Freestyle, a sequel to the 2018 Norwegian dance feature Battle based on the book by internationally acclaimed writer Maja Lunde.

From a small one-bedroom apartment in Oslo, Amalie (Lisa Teige) and her boyfriend Mikael (Fabian Svegaard Tapia) dream of breaking through into the international world of street dance. So, when their crew Illicit is selected to compete at a renowned dance competition in Paris, it seems that they might finally get their chance.

But in Paris, their lives begin to unravel as the crew realises that they need to revamp their routine if they are to stand a chance. Meanwhile, Amalie is distracted as she searches for her estranged mother who runs a ballet school in Paris, leading to mistakes with the new choreography and rising tensions within the crew.

Amalie parts ways with the crew but stumbles upon an underground dance club that rekindles her passion for dancing. But, torn between the love of Mikael, the longing for her absent mother, and her passion for dance, Amalie must choose. Who is she to become?

The cast also includes Morad Aziman, Bao Andre Nguyen, Georgia M. Anta, Stig Amdam, Ellen Dorrit and Ola Furuseth with cameos by French dancing stars such as B-Boy Junior, Keiona and Salah Benlemqawanssa.

Battle: Freestyle, directed by Ingvild Søderlind, premieres 1st April worldwide on Netflix.
