Netflix Unveils Trailer For Danish Original The Rain

Netflix has released a teaser trailer for its first Danish original series The Rain, starring Iben Hjejle (Dicte) and Mikkel Boe Følsgaard (The Legacy), which premieres this Spring.

The Rain is created by Jannik Tai Mosholt (Borgen), Esben Toft Jacobsen (The Great Bear) and Christian Potalivo (Dicte), and is set in a post apocalyptic Copenhagen six years after a brutal biological catastrophe wiped out most of Scandinavia’s human population.

Two young Danish siblings embark on a search for safety. Guided only by their father’s notebook about the virus and the hazards of this new world, they start a dangerous journey through the country and join a group of other young survivors.

Set free from the rules and constraints of a civilised society, each member of the group has the freedom to be whoever they want to be, yet they struggle because even in a post-apocalyptic world there is love, jealousy, and all the other problems associated with coming of age.

The cast includes Lars Simonsen (The Bridge), Johannes Kuhnke (Real Humans), Alba August (A Serious Game), Lukas Løkken (One-Two-Three Now!), Angela Bundalovic (Blood Sisters), Sonny Lindberg (When the Sun Shines), and Jessica Dinnage (The Man).
