Nominations Revealed For 2018 Guldbagge Awards

At a press conference at the Elite Hotel Carolina Tower in Stockholm on Thursday, the nominations were revealed for the 2018 Guldbaggegalan.

Borg McEnroe, which tells the story of Björn Borg and John McEnroe in the build up to their legendary duel at Wimbledon in 1980, leads the field with ten nominations. In addition to Best Film and Best Director, the film has also honoured Sverrir Gudnason and Shia LaBeouf with acting nods for their titular roles.

The Nile Hilton Incident, directed by Tarik Saleh, has the second most nominations with eight, whilst Sami Blood by Amanda Kernell and Ravens by Jens Assur have seven nominations each. Ruben Östlund’s Palme d’Or winner and Oscar contender, The Square, rounds out the leading pack with six nominations.

The 2018 Guldbagge Awards will be presented by Petra Mede (Bonus Family) during a gala ceremony on 22nd January at Cirkus in Stockholm.
