Nordisk Film & TV Supports Ride Upon The Storm

DR1’s new 20 part drama Ride Upon The Storm (Herrens Veje), which has just finished an eight day shoot in Spain, has been awarded NOK 1,950,000 in funding by Nordisk Film & TV Fond. Filming will resume in August.

The story is inspired by Cain and Abel and centres on a priest family in the Danish Church. In the lead roles are Lars Mikkelsen and Ann Eleonora Jørgensen as the parents, with Simon Sears and Morten Hee Andersen playing their two adult sons.

Series producer, Camilla Hammerich, says: “The series works with faith as a concept in a broader context of what leads us through life. Awakening (when faith looks for a place within us) and perdition (when faith leaves us) are the show’s dramatic extremes, and extremes that most of the main characters live through in their journey.”

Ride Upon The Storm, created by Adam Price (Borgen), is a co-production with ARTE and SAM Lefrançais. It will premiere on DR1 in autumn 2017 for its first 10 episodes, and then return in autumn 2018 to conclude its run.
