Obituary: Berrit Kvorning

Danish actress Berrit Sidse Kvorning has passed away after a long illness, aged 69, surrounded by close family at her home in Copenhagen.

Berrit Kvorning graduated from the State Theatre School in 1974, debuting on TV that very year in Bertram & Lisa, and went on to star in numerous series, movies and plays with a great talent for comedic performances

She is perhaps best remembered for roles in shows such as Huset på Christianshavn, Taxa, Rejseholdet and Krøniken, but also narrated audiobooks in later years, including Elisabeth Egholm’s Three Dog Night in 2011.

Away from the camera, Berrit Kvorning was married to orchestral director Per Erik Veng from 1980 to 1992, and actor Henrik Jandorf from 1992 to 2004. She leaves behind current partner Helge Qvigstad, and daughters from her first marriage, Laura and Marie.

Berrit’s daughters wrote in a press release: “Although she is no longer here in physical form, her spirit will always be with us throughout our lives.”
