Ola Rapace To Star In New C More Crime Thriller Farang

Following on from the recent success of Gåsmamman and Beck, C More has reaffirmed its commitment to investing in Swedish drama with the announcement of Farang. Ola Rapace is confirmed in the lead role as a man who has fled Sweden for the relative safety of Thailand, yet soon resumes his criminal ways and still has a price on his head.

After a bank robbery leaves Rickard (Rapace) out of options, he is forced to leave Sweden and abandon his family to start again in Thailand. However, when Rickard’s fifteen year old daughter Thyra (Louise Nyvall) heads out in search of her father, his life becomes even more complicated. He must choose between disclosing his identity and risking his life – or losing his daughter yet again.

Josefine Tengblad, Head of Drama at TV4 and C More, said: “It will be a gut-wrenching thriller – a drama depicting the emotional, fragile relationship between a father and the daughter he abandoned, and at the same time offers a lot of action.”

Farang began filming on 4th April with Erik Leijonborg to direct, and the show will premiere on C More in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland in 2017.
