Pernilla August Starring In Britt-Marie Was Here Movie

Tuva Novotny will direct a movie adaptation of Fredrik Backman’s (A Man Called Ove) novel Britt-Marie Was Here, with Pernilla August starring in this tale of love, community, and second chances.
Britt-Marie (Pernilla August) is an acquired taste and expects things to be done in a certain way. But behind the passive-aggressive, socially awkward exterior is a woman who has more imagination, bigger dreams and a warmer heart than anyone around her realises.
When Britt-Marie is separated from her husband of 20 years and left to fend for herself in the miserable backwater of Borg, she finds herself running the local football team. After a rocky start, she learns that life has more to offer than she ever realised, and love might be found in the most unexpected of places.
Tuva Novotny told Dagens Nyheter: “It’s a very moving and uplifting drama about a 60-plus woman, about new chances in life, a story that it’s never too late to start living. I can’t believe it hasn’t been done before.”
“Pernilla is the one and only. It requires a super elastic and organic actor with a sense of humour and drama to carry such a role. Nobody else has the same scope as Pernilla.”
