Petra Mede To Host Guldbagge Awards For Fourth Time

It has been announced that Petra Mede is to host the 51st Guldbagge Gala at Cirkus in Stockholm on 18th January 2016. This will be Petra’s fourth appearance at the Swedish film awards, having hosted it in 2011, 2012 and 2015. She has also been chosen to co-present the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest in Stockholm with Mans Zelmerlöw.

The Guldbagge Gala is the awards ceremony held by the Swedish Film Institute in recognition of outstanding contributions to the Swedish film industry made during the preceding year.

The first Guldbagge Awards were presented in September 1964, with Ingmar Bergman collecting Best Director for Tystnaden (The Silence). A full list of Guldbagge (Golden Scarab) nominees and winners throughout the years can be found in the Swedish Film Database.

Petra Mede and Guldbagge jury chairman Jannike Åhlund will announce nominations for the 52nd Guldbagge Awards at a press event on January 4th 2016.
