Pia Tjelta Leads Fertility Drama Made In Oslo

Viaplay has announced eight-part Norwegian drama Made in Oslo, starring Pia Tjelta (Blind Spot) and Jakob Cedergren (The Guilty), which explores issues surrounding fertility and childbearing.
At her Norwegian fertility clinic, doctor offers patients a chance to become parents. At the fertility clinic she runs with her ex-husband, Elin (Pia Tjelta) is calm and professional in her treatment of patients who share her longing for children. But, in private, she is fighting a desperate battle against her own biological clock and is prepared to risk her relationships and career to start a family of her own.
Series writer and creator, Kathrine Valen Zeiner, said: “Made In Oslo is about a woman who is caught between reason and obsession – and the central character of Elin risks her marriage, her stepdaughter and her career in order to fulfill the dream of becoming a mother. It is both irrational and deeply understandable at the same time.”
Viaplay Chief Content Officer, Filippa Wallestam, added: “Children are the most important thing we have – and perhaps that is the reason why infertility can be difficult to talk about… Our latest drama is a nuanced take on an emotional and sometimes taboo topic, and we hope that it can contribute to an open discussion.”
Made In Oslo, directed by Marit Moum Aune (Struggle For Life), will premiere on Viaplay across the Nordic region in 2022.
